Hello from the Chiricahua Desert Museum!Just a couple of updates and a SAVE the Date for our Annual Christkindl Markt Party. If you haven't stopped in a more than a month there are many new animals on exhibit some extremely rare rattlesnakes from New Mexico and Mexico. We were successful in helping the State Wildlife Commission changing their archaic law which did require all venomous animals to be devenomoid before crossing into the state. Even the zoos of New Mexico had no way to legally avoid doing this brutal surgery. Now New Mexico Fish and Game has a process in place to become compliant with new regulations for possessing these types of animals. The Chiricahua Desert Museum was one of the first in the state to qualify for the new permit. The Garden continues to grow and become quite beautiful, many toads have begun to morph from tadpoles to toad-lets and the Box turtles have been very active. The rains have been wonderful but the weeds have been somewhat of a nightmare. Doing our best to keep up with them. Christmas / Holiday Party The weekends before christmas are filling up with different local events so we thought we should go ahead and get on your schedules.
